The variety forms a dense shrub with glossy dark green foliage. Flowering occurs abundantly from the third week of May to the first week of June. The flowers have wavy petal edges and a characteristic dark red spotted marking on the upper petal.
The plant is winter-hardy. Planting requires acidic, humus-rich, well-drained soils and locations protected from direct midday sun. The variety is suitable for solitary and group plantings in landscape design and small gardens.
