The Hachhans variety (synonyms "Hans Hachmann", "Night and Day") was obtained as a result of crossing "Midnight Mystique" and "Burgundula". The shrub has a wide, loose crown shape and dark green glossy ovate leaves.
Large funnel-shaped flowers with a diameter of 7–8.5 cm are gathered in dense terminal inflorescences of 11–22 pieces. The color is characterized by a white center with an intense purple-violet border and spotting on the upper petals. Flowering occurs in the second half of May and early June.
The plant has winter hardiness down to -22 °C. The variety is intended for decorative use in landscape design as a solitary plant or in group plantings.
