The variety, also known under the names Silvergieter or Silvergieter's Zwarte, belongs to the early maturity group. In its morphological characteristics, it is very close to the Boskoop Giant variety, however, it surpasses it in resistance to the effects of spring frosts.
In comparative studies of vitamin C content, the variety shows lower results compared to the Boskoop or Wellington XXX varieties. Regarding its phytosanitary condition, the possibility of infection with fungal diseases, including leaf spot, is noted.
