The variety was obtained by crossing the varieties Holandský černý and Goliath. The plant forms bushes of medium height, semi-erect in shape with a sparse crown. The berry ripening period falls in the first ten days of July.

The fruits are large, ripen unevenly, and possess a sweet-and-sour taste and aroma. The variety shows sensitivity to American powdery mildew and white pine blister rust, but is resistant to spring frosts during the flowering period.

Cultivation requires fertile, wind-protected soils with good moisture. The variety needs regular rejuvenating pruning to prevent crown aging and the shifting of fruit bearing to the periphery. It is characterized by a high degree of cross-pollination; the varieties Viola and Ojebyn are recommended as pollinators.
