The plant forms vigorous trailing or semi-trailing canes 2–4 meters long, covered with small soft thorns. Cultivation of this crop requires the installation of trellises to secure the canes.
Fruiting begins in June-July. Berries reach 3–5 cm in length and weigh 5–8 g, changing color from bright red to dark burgundy as they ripen. The receptacle remains inside the berry upon harvest, which complicates mechanized harvesting.
The variety has medium winter hardiness down to –20…–22 °C, therefore in most regions, the canes must be bent to the ground and covered for the winter. The plant shows good resistance to gray mold and purple blotch.
