Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is characterized by a late ripening period; the harvest lasts from the end of July to the middle of October. The plant is vigorous with strong canes from 1.5 to 3-4 meters long, having a pronounced trailing growth habit. The canes are covered with thorns and require mandatory tying to trellises or other supports.

The berries are of medium size, round or round-conical in shape, black with shiny skin, firm, with a sweet taste and a pronounced aroma. The variety is distinguished by good winter hardiness but can be susceptible to gray mold (Botrytis cinerea). The plant is undemanding to soil composition and prefers sunny locations with sufficient irrigation.

The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and all types of industrial processing, including the preparation of jams, juices, and compotes. Due to the presence of thorns on the canes, harvesting can be difficult, which makes the variety less sought after in modern gardening compared to thornless forms.
