The variety is a complex hybrid (Salix schwerinii × Salix viminalis) × Salix linderstipularis. It was originally created as a commercial clone for cultivation in short-rotation energy plantations.
Currently, the variety is classified as obsolete and has been withdrawn from industrial use due to low yield indicators. Studies noted its better adaptability to sites with higher elevations above sea level, which was linked to lower susceptibility to pests.
