The Balsalmysty variety (trade name Mysty) is a hybrid obtained by crossing Salvia longispicata × Salvia farinacea. It is a perennial herbaceous plant with dark green foliage, forming dense bushes with a height of 25 to 35 cm.

The plant has good branching and produces vertical flower stalks with saturated blue-violet flowers. The flowering period lasts from late spring until frosts. The variety is heat-loving and drought-tolerant after rooting; in harsh climatic conditions, it may require winter protection.

The plant has an exclusively decorative purpose and is used for borders, mixed plantings, and container gardening. It does not belong to edible or medicinal species of sage and attracts pollinators to the garden.
