The variety is a hardy perennial with a dense, heavily branched bush habit. The plant is entirely pubescent, including leaves, peduncles, and flowers, which are collected in large spicate inflorescences.

The plant is intended for decorative gardening, border plantings, and container cultivation. It is capable of flowering in the first year after planting and tolerates open field conditions well.
