The plant is a herbaceous perennial 50–55 cm tall, forming dense rounded clumps. The foliage is aromatic, wrinkled, and green in color. Inflorescences are gathered in dense spike-like forms of bright blue-violet color on stiff, upright stems.
The variety is distinguished by an early start of flowering, occurring earlier than many analogs, and the ability to rebloom until frost if faded inflorescences are removed. The plant has high winter hardiness in USDA zones 4b–9a, tolerates heat, and is resistant to deer damage.
Being a sterile hybrid, the plant maintains its decorative qualities for a long period. It is intended for use in landscape design, including borders and mass plantings, and is suitable for container cultivation and cut flowers.
