The variety is intended for industrial processing, including juice production and pharmaceutical use. The juice yield from "Sambo" fruits is approximately 78.7%.
The fruits possess high antioxidant activity and a significant concentration of macro- and microelements, including calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium. Studies also indicate cytotoxic activity of the fruits against certain cancer cell lines.
Under Slovak conditions, the ripening of this variety occurs 2–3 weeks later than in wild forms of black elderberry.
