The plant has a compact habit, reaching a height of about 3 meters by the age of ten with a crown width of 0.8 to 1.5 meters. The leaves are deeply dissected. Flowering occurs in May–June with white fragrant flowers gathered in flat corymbose inflorescences. In autumn, fruits in the form of black berries ripen.

The variety prefers sunny areas or partial shade, where the foliage color becomes more intense. It adapts well to a variety of soils, including moist, calcareous, or poor ones, provided that drainage is ensured. During drought and in the first years after planting, the plant requires watering.

The plant is fully winter-hardy and possesses general resistance to diseases and pests. The berries are edible after mandatory heat treatment and attract pollinating insects and birds.
