The variety «Hyfjolais» (commercial name Cherry Lace) is a compact shrub bred through open pollination of the «Eva» variety. The plant features deeply dissected leaves, which have a greenish-red hue upon unfolding, gradually transitioning to a dark burgundy or cherry-red color.
Flowering occurs in early summer, when creamy-pink flowers appear, gathered in flat corymbose inflorescences. Shiny black fruits ripen in late summer. The variety is characterized by winter hardiness and the ability to adapt to various soil types; it is primarily used as an ornamental plant for small gardens and container landscaping.
