The root vegetables are cylindrical in shape and 25–35 cm long, covered with smooth black skin. The flesh is dense, tender, and has an intense flavor. The plant forms upright foliage, the height of which can reach 1 meter.
The period from sowing to harvest is from 6 to 8 months. The variety is winter-hardy, which allows the root vegetables to be left in the soil until spring. Deeply tilled loose soils are required to obtain a high-quality yield.
