The variety was obtained as a result of crossing BH 93-30 and Bildtstar. Tubers have shallow or very shallow eyes. Due to its commercial appearance and ease of peeling, the variety is intended for fresh market sale.
The plant has resistance to potato cyst nematode (PCN Ro1) and potato wart (pathotype F1). A low level of susceptibility to virus Y is noted, however, the variety is susceptible to late blight of foliage and tubers, Fusarium wilt and common scab.
