The variety was obtained as a result of crossing Desiree and Maris Piper varieties. The tubers have pink skin and light yellow flesh, while the tuber shape is more uniform than that of the Desiree variety. According to testing methods, the flower corolla size of this variety is very small.
The variety possesses excellent tolerance to powdery scab. Research was conducted to study the variety's reaction to the potato wart pathogen (Synchytrium endobioticum). In the 1990s, the variety underwent regional trials as suitable for the fresh market.
