The variety belongs to the First Early maturity group, with harvesting traditionally falling in late June. It is also known by the synonyms Hibernia and Garden Filler.
The tubers have a purple skin color. The flesh is yellow with a characteristic purple anthocyanin ring directly under the skin.
The variety is historic and was repatriated to Ireland from the USA in 1997. It is traditionally used in home and amateur gardening.
