The variety is genetically almost identical to the classic King Edward and is classified as its mutant, which makes them difficult to distinguish by molecular profiling methods. The tubers have an oval shape, red skin, sometimes with white patches, and white or pale white flesh.
It belongs to the mid-season category of varieties. The flesh has a predominantly floury texture, and the variety is suitable for frying, baking, and making chips and mashed potatoes.
