The variety was bred in the USA and introduced in 1955. Morphologically, the plant forms tubers with bright red skin and belongs to the table group.
Historical literature notes the variety's resistance to Verticillium wilt. At the current stage, the variety is found more often in collection plantings and is used as a parent form in the breeding of new potato varieties.
