The Savanna variety is characterized as mid-season, although some sources refer to it as early. The plant forms a fairly large bush, which facilitates row closure and moisture retention in the soil. One bush produces about 10–15 large oval tubers with smooth cream-white skin and white or cream flesh.
The plant possesses genetic resistance to Rhizoctonia, common scab, and late blight. The variety is intended for table use, has good keeping quality during storage, and is suitable for retail.
