The tubers are oval or long-oval in shape with a smooth surface and shallow eyes, and their skin is dark blue. The flesh is yellow and contains an average amount of dry matter. The plant is tall, with a sparse bush structure and pronounced anthocyanin pigment on the stems, leaf veins, and sepals.
The variety has a relatively crumbly texture after boiling and shows a low tendency to darken. In terms of agronomy, the variety is characterized as rather susceptible to late blight and bacterial infections. In a number of registries, it may be mentioned as a synonym or a close form to the Blå Mandel variety.
