The variety is the result of breeding work by B. Dekker. Genetically, the variety was obtained by crossing the Avenir and Nopol varieties.
The plant belongs to the early maturity group. Morphologically, the variety is distinguished by the formation of large tubers. It is resistant to tuber late blight and possesses immunity to potato wart (Synchytrium endobioticum).
