The Serpentin variety belongs to the red grain spelt type (Rotkorn type). The plant is winter-type, characterized by medium height (about 139 cm) and high growth vigor. The variety has the ability for intensive soil coverage, which effectively suppresses weed growth up to the ripening stage.

The variety demonstrates good lodging resistance and high resistance to diseases, including yellow rust and septoria. A distinctive feature is outstanding resistance to pre-harvest sprouting. The variety shows good yield and is suitable for straw harvesting, while possessing high protein quality indicators.
