Variety description

10 August 2026

The Tauro variety belongs to the species Triticum aestivum subsp. spelta. It was created for organic farming systems and is intended to be used as an alternative to common wheat due to its combination of grain quality and satisfactory yield.

In scientific studies, the variety demonstrates relatively high resistance to common bunt, showing a spike infection incidence of less than 10%. Studies on its resistance to Fusarium head blight and comparative evaluations of agronomic parameters, such as plant height, heading and maturity dates, as well as lodging, were also conducted.
