Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a spring spelt form obtained through selection from the PL 21803 accession. The plant is characterized by a long stem, white ears without awns, brittle rachis, and the presence of husked grain.

The variety possesses significant resistance to fungal cereal pathogens, but is characterized by low lodging resistance. Yield is lower than that of modern soft wheat varieties, while the variety has low nitrogen fertilizer requirements.

The grain is distinguished by high protein content (14–17%), as well as high falling number and sedimentation index values. The variety is suitable for the production of high-quality flour.
