The variety is a carrier of the Pinb-D1c mutant allele, which determines grain hardness. Quattro is widely known as genetic material in breeding programs, serving as a pedigree component for varieties such as Likamero and Kalixo.
During studies, the variety demonstrated the ability for reduced accumulation of radionuclides, including strontium-90 and cesium-137, in grain and straw compared to a number of other samples.
