The Claudio variety is a durum wheat intended for the food industry, particularly for the production of pasta and groats. During its period of distribution in Italy in the late 1990s and early 2000s, it demonstrated high yields, in some trials exceeding 4.5 t/ha.

The grain of the variety is distinguished by a high polyphenol content. At the same time, studies indicate the plants' susceptibility to mycotoxin accumulation and sensitivity to prolonged soil waterlogging, which leads to a decrease in yield indicators.
