Cicirello, also known as Cicireddu, is an ancient landrace variety historically grown in the Le Cronie mountain range area in Sicily. In scientific literature, synonyms of the name appear, such as Cicireddu bianco, Calciolu bianco, Arciolu, and Arcione, as well as references to the Cicirello rosso variety.

This variety is not a product of modern breeding, therefore it does not possess standardized yield indicators or strictly uniform morphological traits. Traditionally, its grain was used for the production of semolina, pasta, couscous, and bakery products.

Botanically, the variety is classified as Triticum durum Desf., sometimes with the specification T. turgidum L. var. pseudosalomonis. Research on genetic diversity notes the presence of specific genetic traits in this landrace, including resistance to leaf rust.
