The Vento variety has a genetic origin described by the formula (Line 28-10 / Line 17) x Creso. It was created within the framework of Italian research programs on durum wheat breeding.

The plant is used in the pasta industry. During comparative technological studies, the grain of the variety was evaluated based on parameters such as test weight, protein content, gluten index, yellow index, as well as ash content and semolina yield indicators.
