Vines of this variety are distinguished by vigorous growth and require regular pruning and proper training. The variety is characterized by low yields, small compact clusters, and small berries with thick skins.

Albarino is sensitive to humidity and prone to fungal diseases, therefore it requires careful maintenance and protection. In traditional growing regions, it is cultivated on special trellises to improve aeration.

Wines from this variety possess high acidity, freshness, minerality, as well as aromas of citrus, stone fruits, and flowers.
