The variety is a local Canarian grape that was long considered endangered. Work is currently underway on its study, sanitary certification, and official registration in the national variety register. Research activities regarding the conservation of biodiversity are being conducted by the Canary Islands Institute of Agricultural Research.

ALBILLO DEL MONTE LENTISCAL belongs to wine grape varieties intended for winemaking. It is used to create white wines with unique characteristics. Detailed agronomic descriptions, including data on yield and disease resistance, are currently limited in the public domain.
