The variety has Italian roots and is genetically derived from Muscat Blanc and an unknown parent variety. The plant has medium vigor and is characterized by stable yields and an early ripening period.
The leaves of the variety are large, pentagonal, and can be entire or have three to five lobes. The clusters are medium-sized, cylindrical, winged, and of medium density. The berries are medium, round, purple-red or black in color with a waxy bloom.
The grape is susceptible to Botrytis and powdery mildew. It is valued for its pronounced aromatics, inherited from Muscat varieties, and its ability to accumulate high levels of sugar, which allows it to be used to create wines with notes of roses, violets, wild berries, and cherries.
