The variety belongs to the wine grape types. The vines have medium vigor; the flower is hermaphroditic. The leaves are medium-sized, rounded or elongated, three-lobed, with dense pubescence on the underside. The clusters are cylindrical-conical, of medium density. The berries are medium-sized, rounded, black with a waxy bloom and juicy flesh.

The growing season lasts about 168 days with an active temperature sum of 3200–3500°С. The variety shows medium resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, is relatively resistant to phylloxera, and frost resistance is limited to -20°С. Shoot maturation is good, and the yield is 60–70 c/ha.

Aleksandruli is distinguished by its ability for high sugar accumulation, reaching 27–30% in the Racha region. The grapes are used for the production of table, dry, and semi-sweet wines, which possess a ruby hue and aromas of raspberry, cherry, blackberry, and violet.
