The variety belongs to the mid-late or late ripening groups. The vines are of medium vigor, with large dark green leaves that have medium pubescence on the underside and downward-curled edges. Clusters reach a mass of 0.7–1.0 kg. The berries are round in shape, blue-black in color, and covered with a waxy bloom.

The plant is demanding of growing conditions and susceptible to fungal diseases, which necessitates regular treatments. Frost resistance is down to –22 °C. Wines created from this variety possess high density, pronounced structure, and aging potential.
