The variety Ametyst belongs to the category of seeded table grapes. It is a product of the Slovak breeding program, obtained by crossing the varieties Aptis aga and Cardinal (hybrid combination 6/4-BA).

The variety is characterized by a medium-late berry maturity period. In agricultural classifications, it belongs to the species Vitis vinifera.
