The variety (breeding number Walker 09314-102) was developed by crossing Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Carignan Noir with American grape species. The plant is characterized by early flowering and ripening periods and is highly productive.

Morphologically, the variety is characterized by small to medium berries and relatively large clusters. The winter hardiness zone is estimated at USDA 6–7. The grape does not possess high drought tolerance and requires the use of a trellis system for cultivation.

Wines from this variety possess good acidity and an aromatic profile that includes notes of citrus, gooseberry, and apple. The color of the finished wine varies from light straw to transparent.
