Sheegene-20
ActiveVitis vinifera L. · Common grape vine
TIMOTHY SHEEHAN
10 August 2026
The variety is early-ripening and possesses high growth vigor, which requires control through training and pruning. The plant forms small bunches with small or medium-sized berries of a round shape and an amber or greenish-yellow color. The berry skin is thick, which helps to withstand humidity, yet the variety itself is characterized as susceptible to fungal diseases, such as powdery mildew and rot.
The yield of the variety is estimated as low. Vines tolerate drought well, but in the conditions of a humid Atlantic climate, they require specific cultivation methods using supports to improve aeration. Wines produced from this variety are noted for their freshness and notes of stone fruits, citrus, and flowers.
