Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Blaufränkisch and Teinturier du Cher. The plant is characterized by an upright growth habit of vigorous vines. Clusters are medium-sized and consist of small or medium-sized dark blue berries with a characteristic bloom.
The variety possesses good frost hardiness and high resistance to grey mold, with moderate resistance to downy mildew. Sensitivity to powdery mildew, chlorosis, and a susceptibility to bunch stem necrosis are noted. For ripening, the variety requires high-quality sunny sites.
Cabernet Mitos belongs to the category of teinturier varieties: not only the skin but also the berry pulp and leaves are pigmented. It is used for the production of full-bodied red wines with high tannin content and for blending with other wines to add color intensity.
