Variety description

The variety has a medium to medium-late ripening period, occurring approximately two weeks after the Pinot Noir variety. The vines are characterized by medium to above-medium vigor with an upright shoot growth habit. The clusters are medium-sized, elongated-cylindrical in shape, and loose in structure. The berries are medium-sized, round, and dark blue, almost black in color.
The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew, moderate resistance to powdery mildew, and a low risk of Botrytis bunch rot infection. The variety is intended for the production of red wines, rich in tannins and extractives, with aromas of blackcurrant and pepper. Cultivation is recommended on sites with good ripening potential.
