Espero de Gall is an indigenous grape variety of the island of Mallorca, whose name translates from Catalan as "rooster's spur" due to the characteristic shape of the berries or clusters. The variety was saved from extinction thanks to the efforts of local specialists in the conservation of genetic resources.

The variety is classified as a wine grape and is used for the production of red wines, often in blends with other local varieties, such as Escursac. The plant is well adapted to local climatic conditions and is able to grow successfully on poor soils without the use of artificial irrigation.
