The variety is a technical white grape. Genetically, it is the result of crossing the Șarbă and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. Studies of the vegetative growth of young plants in nurseries using various rootstocks show good development indicators.
The variety is characterized by sensitivity to climatic changes, which affect the timing of flowering and ripening. The yield of the variety is subject to the influence of the year's weather conditions, while low winter temperatures can negatively affect bud viability and overall productivity.
The specialized literature also mentions other varieties named Golia, including an interspecific hybrid of Italian breeding used as a rootstock, and the Vitis cinerea rootstock, which are not fruit-bearing varieties.
