The variety LE-K/1 (K1) is a rootstock and is not intended for berry production. It is an interspecific hybrid obtained from the cross (Schwarzmann × Ortlíbské žluté) × Svatovavřinecké, which is classified in genetic databases as a hybrid of the species Vitis cinerea and Vitis riparia.

The plant has medium-strong vigor and good affinity with varieties of the species Vitis vinifera. The variety is characterized by high resistance to frost, phylloxera, drought, and fungal diseases.

The rootstock grows best on light loamy and sandy soils. The variety does not tolerate saline or highly calcareous soils, withstanding an active calcium content of no more than 10%.
