The variety has medium-sized and compact clusters. The berries are medium, cylindrical in shape, with a bluish-tinted skin.

Wines from this variety are characterized as light, with a moderate level of tannin and acidity. Traditionally, the variety was used to give wines fullness of taste and rich color.

The variety is considered traditional, of folk selection. It is genetically close to the Monastrell variety. Information on the maturity group and growth type is absent in the publications.
