Plant droit is a technical variety characterized by upright shoots. The plant forms leaves with three to five lobes and black, slightly elongated berries. The variety belongs to the mid-season group and exhibits good drought tolerance.

The variety is highly susceptible to gray mold. Historically, it was rarely used as a single varietal, being more often used in blends. Wines produced from this grape are characterized by a light red color, pronounced aromatics, low alcohol levels, and moderate acidity.
