The variety has an ancient natural origin and is the result of crossing Blaue Zimmettraube and Grüner Silvaner varieties. The plant has high vine vigor; leaves are medium or large, light green and smooth. Bunches are medium-sized; berries are large, blackish-blue in color with thin skin.

The variety is sensitive to fungal diseases, such as downy mildew, powdery mildew and grey rot, as well as to winter frosts, strong winds and spring frosts due to early bud burst. With high yields of up to 160 hl/ha, the wine produced is light, with moderate acidity and a low tannin content.
