The variety is of very ancient origin and was historically cultivated in France. In literature, it is found under the synonym Honigler. It belongs to wine varieties; the wine produced from it is alcoholic but neutral in flavor and aromatic characteristics.

The plant has moderate vigor and average fertility; long pruning is recommended during cultivation. Young shoots have high pubescence density, adult leaves are rounded, 3- or 5-lobed. Clusters are of medium or large size, berries are medium, round or slightly flattened in shape.

The variety is of early maturity: the beginning of vegetation occurs approximately 6 days after the Chasselas variety, berry ripening — one and a half weeks after it. The variety is susceptible to grey mold; no certified clones currently exist.
