The variety is a little-known subject of research aimed at preserving the genetic diversity of autochthonous species. In international ampelographic literature, the name is sometimes considered a synonym for the Godello variety; however, within the framework of current work, it is singled out as separate research material.
The plant is distinguished by a later ripening period compared to the Verdejo variety, which allows for its effective use in hot climate conditions. Morphologically, the grape has a certain visual resemblance to Verdejo, while demonstrating organoleptic properties of the finished product that differ from it.
