Variety description

The variety belongs to the mid-season maturity group, with harvest taking place in the second half of August or the first half of September. Vines have medium vigor. Leaves are medium, five-lobed, smooth, without pubescence. Bunches are medium-sized, conical in shape, and of high density.

Berries are black, rounded, and covered with an intense waxy bloom. The variety is characterized by good vine ripening. Sugar accumulation is high, reaching 23–30%, while maintaining relatively high acidity.

Wines from the Rubin variety are distinguished by deep color, pronounced tannins, and notes of blackberry, cherry, fig, vanilla, and violet. The variety is used both as a varietal wine and in blends, for example, with the Mavrud variety.
