The variety is the result of breeding work to develop disease-resistant hybrids by crossing Vitis vinifera with complex hybrids of German and Hungarian origin. It was created as a wine variety for winemaking.

The plant possesses resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, as well as to unfavorable winter temperatures. Research analyzed the chemical composition of berries and wines, in particular the content of anthocyanins, such as malvidin-3,5-diglucoside, which is an important parameter for compliance with EU requirements for hybrid varieties.
