Servanin is an old French wine grape variety originating from the Alps. Its clusters and berries are distinguished by their small size. The variety is susceptible to downy mildew and powdery mildew, and requires a long growing season for full ripening.
Wines from this variety possess deep color, high tannin content, and pronounced acidity. The flavor and aroma profile includes spicy notes, as well as hints of plum, black pepper, and violet. The variety is included in the appellation regulations of the Savoie region.
